The mission of Dress for Success Northern NJ-10 Counties is to empower women to achieve economic independence by providing a network of support, professional attire and the development tools to help women thrive in work and in life.
As part of a global initiative, our affiliate was founded in 1998 in Morris County, NJ in partnership with United Way. Shortly after, we ventured on our own to start an exciting journey of growth in terms of what we do, how we do it, and who we serve.
We recognized the fact that no matter what a woman wears, our greater purpose was to “suit” women with competence and confidence so she can be successful in her journey. Our programming, “Beyond the Suit” has expanded from the provision of clothing and accessories to training, mentoring, and coaching.
We began bringing our training and attire into communities in need and that served as the impetus for our expansion and change in name from a focus on just one county to a focus on ten- Morris, Essex, Bergen, Passaic, Union, Hunterdon, Warren, Sussex, Somerset, and Middlesex.
We have since served over 23,000 women and support all women at any stage in their journey-whether in training, entering the workforce, navigating career transition, or preparing for their next phase with programming focused on the following pillars- health and wellness, work-life blending, workplace etiquette, financial literacy, social/civic responsibility, and of course, job readiness and retention.
All of our services are offered at no cost because of the generosity of individual and corporate donors and partners.
